Glenn James Reid was born in Detroit, Michigan and is the only son of James N. and Clara F. Reid. Glenn’s father was a great influence on him and instilled in him an appreciation for working with one’s hands. As a result, Glenn has dedicated his life’s work to the field of engineering within the automotive industry.

Our parents have taught us a great deal about generosity, compassion, and hard work – all excellent qualities to have when making grants. Our mother, Lorene H. Reid, was a gifted teacher who spent her career making a difference in other’s lives. She strongly believes in education and hopes that by granting scholarships, our foundation will be helping to provide educational opportunities to help people improve their lives.

Our father, Glenn J. Reid, established the foundation in 2001 with funds from his automotive manufacturing company, Flexible Products, as well as using his private collection of historical models to open Museum Bronze. He is an extremely successful businessman with a fervent entrepreneurial spirit. His strong work ethic and generous character combined with our mother’s vibrant curiosity, and passion for learning, are principles we use in operating the foundation, today.
